History: Lucina's wiki page | Fire Emblem: Awakening wiki page
Personality:
"I often gaze at the stars. They seem brighter now than they did in the future."

When meeting Lucina for the first time, one might notice the serious and mysterious tone she possesses thanks to the future she grew up in. If Lucina had been living in a happier time, the future she wishes for her present time, she may have grown up a bit more carefree. However, thanks to growing up in such a dark time, Lucina has a bigger and better sense of duty; she strives to make the world a better place, because no one deserves to live in a broken world like her’s. To her, no one should suffer the fate that her future did.

Lucina’s full of mystery when she first sets foot in the past. She does not say much to Chrom and the others when she’s in her Marth persona and speaks in a harsh tone, warning them that something wicked will come along and that she had no time to talk. It’s no surprise for her to speak like that; not only is she a visitor from the future and didn’t intent to reveal her identity ever to her father, but she takes her mission very seriously. After all, if Grima wins in the past then all hope is lost. She would have lost her father again and the world would be in flames and chaos.

“...... After your murder and Grima's return, I took the name Marth and fought back. I prayed to the Hero-King for a small part of the strength he used to save the world. But I need this subterfuge no longer. I choose to fight as Lucina now. The name that reminds me of the strength in the man and woman who chose it.”

Once Lucina’s identity is revealed, she becomes a bit more open. Her personality does not do an entire 360 but other sides show a bit more after her drops her Marth persona and fights as Lucina. In her support conversations with her mother, she revealed that she has a rather unique taste for fashion ( meaning that someone would rather get better fashion advice from a rock ). She enjoys shopping and the like, at least shopping for her mother.

In her supports with her father, she showed a very hero-worshipping side, as she admired him greatly. She purposely made their spar fight a draw so she could spend more time with him. She also expresses how she feels excited when his future self revealed secrets to her, even if they were small and boring. The only story he had yet to tell her was how he met Lucina’s mother, and teased him by saying he was afraid of losing a fight to her ( since she said that if she won a spar much he had to tell her ). She’s very close with her father and is happy that she gets to know him in the past since she never got to in the future.

Lucina loves her parents very much, but she feels like if she stays in the present after Grima is defeated, she would be a burden to them both, especially to Chrom since he would have another woman by his side, resulting in rumors and gossip. She expresses jealousy to her mother about her younger self, saying that she envied the fact that her younger self would get to know both of her parents. She realizes that her parents do love her after they tell her so and she expresses her joy with tears.

Lucina longs to be normal. Not exactly “throw-away-her-crown-and-live-a-peasant-life” but a normal life without any destruction and fighting. Because of how much death she’s seen, Lucina dislikes the idea of death in general even the noble ones, the ones that include sacrificing and such. In her support conversation with her siblings when they get in trouble for freaking out over a bug, she agrees with her sibling when they remark about how them getting in trouble reminded them of being a “normal family” for once.

While she still has a serious tone, Lucina sometimes shows a childish and denser side. In her barracks description, it says straight out that she is the least likely to get a joke. If the avatar is a female unit and not married to Chrom, Lucina expresses some jealousy towards her as she’s afraid that she might try and steal her father from her and her mother. This results in Lucina following the female avatar around, making sure that she doesn’t try and “seduce” Chrom. She then freaks out when the female avatar says that she was going to tell Chrom all about it, which shows that she does not want to disappoint her father.

She seems to have a sadistic side, shown in her S support conversation with Inigo if they are not siblings. She laughs about how she could imagine Chrom cutting Inigo into bloody bits ( “You were worried about Father?! Ha ha ha! I can just picture him receiving you at the castle, broadsword across his lap! Ah ha! I can't help it! Imagine Father chopping you into bloody bits! Heh ha ha ha!” ).

Lucina wants to not only be like her father, but to be like the Hero King Marth since she took up his name. Tiki tells Lucina in their support that she’s a lot like him – “You remind me of him—you inspire trust and even love among your comrades. As long as you never give up, I have no doubt you will honor the name of Marth.” Lucina had started to realize that people look up to her as well, which only provokes her to work harder so that every ally of her’s can achieve their own dream.

There are some negatives to Lucina as well because she is not a perfect person. She doesn’t seem to take care of herself mentally, as she’s always worried about her father and not trusting everyone around her because she’s afraid they might be her father’s murderer, because the only thing she knows about how her father died is that he was murdered by a close friend ( “That is why I placed myself here in his army—because I trust no one close to him.” ). She can also have a bit of a temper if provoked or really annoyed but that’s covered up by her calmness. She is also not the most optimistic person around, as she does talk about her dark future a lot, but she will never give up hope.

Overall, Lucina is a hopeful girl, a hopeful girl who wishes to stop the fighting and live a peaceful life after Grima is defeated and create a future where everyone is happy. That is her goal and dream and she will stop at nothing to achieve it.
